Compounded Peptides Are Here: HHS Opens Access to 6 New Peptides

October 28, 2026
Compounded peptides are here. HHS now lets licensed pharmacies make BPC‑157, TB‑500, KPV, MOTS‑c, Semax & Epitalon. See what’s coming to BROND.

Compounded peptides just got their biggest win yet. On October 28, 2026, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced that licensed compounding pharmacies across the country can now make and dispense six of the most talked-about peptides: BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, MOTS-c, Semax, and Epitalon.

For years, people chasing faster recovery, sharper focus, and healthier aging had two bad options: go without, or roll the dice on “research use only” vials from the internet. That era is ending. This move pulls peptides out of the gray market and puts them where they belong: in licensed U.S. pharmacies, prescribed by real doctors.

At BROND, we’ve been ready for this moment. All six compounded peptides are coming soon to our physician-guided platform.

What HHS Changed for Compounded Peptides

HHS is using what’s called enforcement discretion: it will not take action against licensed compounding pharmacies that make these six peptides while the FDA finalizes a formal rule. That means patients get access now instead of waiting years for the standard rulemaking process to play out.

This didn’t come out of nowhere. An FDA advisory panel voted in July 2026 to recommend allowing compounding pharmacies to produce these peptides. HHS leadership has been clear about the goal: move Americans away from unregulated online products and toward safer, pharmacy-made compounds.

The policy also raises the bar on quality. Under the new framework, compounding pharmacies must:

  • 01Source peptide ingredients from FDA-regulated facilities
  • 02Verify the chemical identity and purity of every compound
  • 03Collect and report any side effects

Those guardrails are exactly what the gray market never offered. The peptides themselves are not yet FDA-approved drugs, and the FDA is still gathering data and public comment before a final ruling. But for the first time, Americans have a clear, legitimate path to compounded peptides through a doctor and a licensed pharmacy.

The 6 Compounded Peptides Now Allowed

Each of these peptides has built a following for a reason. Here’s a quick look at what each one is and what the research is exploring. Much of the current evidence comes from early-stage and animal studies, which is why working with a licensed provider matters.

BPC‑157: The Recovery Peptide

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a 15-amino-acid peptide based on a protein found naturally in the stomach. It’s one of the most researched peptides for recovery, with studies exploring its role in repairing tendons, ligaments, muscle, and the gut lining. For athletes, lifters, and anyone who refuses to let an injury sideline them, BPC-157 is the name that keeps coming up.

TB‑500: Repair and Mobility

TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of Thymosin Beta-4, a peptide your body already uses to help cells move to areas that need repair. Research has focused on tissue healing, flexibility, and reducing downtime after hard training. It’s often discussed alongside BPC-157 as part of a complete recovery stack.

KPV: Calm the Inflammation

KPV is a small three-amino-acid peptide derived from alpha-MSH, a hormone involved in the body’s inflammatory response. Studies are looking at KPV’s anti-inflammatory potential, especially for gut health and skin. If inflammation is holding you back, KPV is worth a conversation with your provider.

MOTS‑c: Metabolic Fuel

MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide, meaning it’s encoded in your mitochondria, the energy engines of your cells. Research has explored its effects on metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and exercise capacity, earning it the nickname “exercise mimetic” in some studies. For people focused on energy, body composition, and metabolic health, MOTS-c is one to watch.

Semax: Focus and Mental Clarity

Semax is a synthetic peptide modeled on a fragment of ACTH, a hormone tied to the body’s stress response. It’s been studied for cognitive support, focus, and neuroprotection, and is typically delivered as a nasal spray. For high performers who need to stay sharp under pressure, Semax is built for the mental side of the fight.

Epitalon: The Longevity Peptide

Epitalon is a four-amino-acid peptide based on a compound produced by the pineal gland. Research has explored its effects on telomerase activity, sleep and circadian rhythm, and markers of cellular aging. For anyone serious about longevity and aging on their own terms, Epitalon is at the center of the conversation.

Why Compounded Peptides Beat the Gray Market

Until now, most peptides sold online came labeled “for research use only.” No prescription, no doctor, no pharmacy standards, and no way to know what was actually in the vial. HHS called it out directly: the goal of this policy is to steer people away from black-market peptides and toward safe, pharmacy-made compounds.

That’s the standard BROND was built on. When you get compounded peptides through a licensed provider, you get:

  • 01A real medical review. A U.S.-licensed physician evaluates your health history and goals before anything is prescribed.
  • 02Pharmacy-grade compounds. Made by licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies, now held to new identity, purity, and sourcing requirements.
  • 03Ongoing support. A care team you can message directly, not a checkout page and a prayer.

Peptides aren’t for everyone, and they aren’t a shortcut. But for people who take their health seriously, this is the safest, most legitimate access to compounded peptides Americans have ever had.
